As a Technical Support Associate Specialist, you will provide expertise to the development and ongoing support to bacterial and viral cell culture manufacture. This includes troubleshooting in production, scale up of processes and development, optimization and implementation of the required quality control testing. In addition, contribute to the state-of-the-art facility expansion projects and R&D initiatives.

Key duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Contributing to cross functional teams to implement MSD projects
  • Process/yield improvement, documentation development and staff training
  • Accurate and reliable project reporting and communication to internal stakeholders
  • Contributing to  transfers and new product introductions, the technical aspects of production, improving/validating existing processes/test methods and  proactive involvement in site quality processes.
  • Contribute to the process validation aspects of the new bacterial facility


To be successful as a Technical Support Associate Specialist you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Practical experience with production of biologicals and working knowledge of test methods in Animal Health, Biopharmaceuticals or food industry 
  • Experience with laboratory processes and large scale bioreactors, roller-bottle and freeze-drying is preferred
  • Experience in working with process development/improvement projects and/or process validation projects is valued
  • Project management experience will be an advantage
  • An understanding of the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)/Good Document Practice (GDP)/Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) is essential. Experience working in a highly regulated environments (eg. APVMA, TGA, OGTR, DAWR) is desirable.
  • A tertiary qualification in science or equivalent experience in highly relevant industry e.g. biotechnology/biology/biochemistry or a related field
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders
  • The ability to work collaboratively to drive results and achieve positive business outcomes. 
  • Great eye for detail with highly developed scientific problem-solving skills
