The Site
The production facilities in Boxmeer are part of the global MSD Animal Health production network and manufacture and package animal health products according to GMP standards. MSD is working according to the MSD Production System (MPS), which is based on Lean Six Sigma and inclusion principles. The production organization in Boxmeer consists of several Integrated Process Teams (IPTs) and Centers of Excellence (CoEs).

To help us realize our overall strategy, currently the new IPT Inactivated Vaccins and Pharmaceuticals (IVP) is looking for a Maintenance & Reliability Lead (1 FTE). The IPT IVP focuses on formulation and sterile filling of bulk vaccines and pharmaceuticals in primary packaging containers.

The position
The primary purpose of the position is to lead the maintenance and reliability team of the IPT, to keep the assets of the IPT available for production in an effective and efficient manner, to set technical standards within the IPT and to initiate and contribute to the implementation of technical improvements on assets, processes and systems. Focusing on three major functions within the maintenance team: governing, improving and executing preventive and corrective maintenance on assets, processes and systems.

The Maintenance & Reliability Lead will be responsible for:

  • Leading, coaching and developing of the IPT IVP Maintenance & Reliability team 

  • Define asset/maintenance strategy and targets (KPI’s) for the IPT in close cooperation with the IPT Lead

  • Is responsible for the maintenance budget of the IPT

  • Accountable for the timely within budget execution of (technical) improvement projects

  • Initiating, developing and ensuring implementation of knowledge, standards, procedures and guidelines in collaboration with other M&R Leads. Acts as subject matter expert for certain topics

  • Enhancing and promoting a safety culture 

  • Hands-on support to the business with problem solving techniques and facilitating root cause analysis or cross-functional investigations; 

Desired skills & experience

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering; 

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in a comparable role; 

  • Knowledge of GMP / SHE guidelines and CMMS. 

  • Certified Green Belt (or proven experience in Lean/ Six Sigma)

  • Strong project management skills, change management skills and proven ability to manage complex projects; 

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to learn;

  • Strong communication skills and people-oriented coaching; 

  • Results oriented and ability to drive change with ‘Can do’ mentality;

  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.
