Position Overview          


The Technical Manager (TM) is responsible for a scientific and technical medical veterinary consultation (including clarification of pharmacovigilance i.e. PV cases), training for internal and external customers of the organization in a direction to support commercial targets of the organization on regional (CERG) level.


The position is also accountable for the close cooperation with Marketing Manager (CERG) and key account management in order to create and implement the strategic and tactical marketing and commercial plans.


The position shall in a delegated area create a close and intensive connection to identified key customers (KA) key opinion leaders (KOL), universities and medical and scientific stakeholders.


TM efficiently allocates delegated resources (typical is TM regional laboratory and trial budget) in accordance to meet agreed Marketing and KAM plans in order to increase the commercial performance of the organization.


TM keeps their professional competence and awareness on the highest possible veterinary medicine’s scientific and livestock production by a permanent contact to professional literature (including own publishing),  a contact with professional society on symposia and congresses  (including own presentation and posters’ exhibition) as well as by fulfilling clinical trial projects and their statistical evaluation and professional presentation – on regional CERG and local level.


The position is in its daily work accountable for the work in the field in order to support sales team to achieve commercial targets of the organization as well as guarantying a fulfilment of the organizations’ valid SOPs in practical use of the products, services, trials and technologies.


 


Major Activities


Roles and responsibilities:


 




  • Proactive and reactive scientific and technical medical veterinary consultation in a delegated area for the customers and colleagues in the organization including the needed processing of PV cases



  • Cooperation on the development of the strategic and tactical marketing and commercial plans on the basis of a feedback from the customer consultations, the product price and technical positioning as well as on the experience on practical use of the products



  • Proactive feedback/formulated propositions to technical and scientific positioning of the products on a market competitive environment based on the feedback from the customer consultations, the experience on practical use of the products, the knowledge of livestock production value chain



  • Proactive feedback/formulated propositions to the mid- to long-term strategic completeness of product portfolio including the propositions on sales supporting measures (services, equipment, diagnostic,..)



  • Implementation and evaluation of the strategic and tactical marketing and commercial plans on daily working routine including by keeping records on the proactively or reactively supported customer audience in the organization’s supported Customer relationship management system (CRM)



  • On daily working routine keep by planning for a regular and efficiently frequent visiting and contact schedule the active and positive connections to KA, KOL, universities and medical and scientific stakeholders in a delegated area (CERG)



  • Plan for and proceed with the creation of data, their written or verbal presentation for the purpose of product management or local or international presentations in context of agreed the strategic and tactical marketing plans



  • Plan for and proceed with the educative customers programs in a delegated area in context of agreed the strategic and tactical marketing and commercial plans



  • Membership in a name of the organization and active work in an effectively broad number of the scientific associations, the projects or the projects groups



  • Effectively broad participation on relevant congresses, symposia and professional fairs




  • Provide field consultancy for responsible area supporting KAMs team in particular countries on CERG level


 

Qualifications

Expertise Required / Core Competences  


 




  • Professional Competence:


     




    • University degree in veterinary medicine preferably with PhD or similar in area of required species specialization





    • Satisfactory time and content of practice in veterinary medicine in veterinary clinic or in scientific organization or in technical services


       



  • Attitude to and preparedness for a continuous education


     



  • High level of diplomacy, negotiating skills but constructive assertiveness in dealing with internal and external stakeholders



  • Excellent organizational and planning skills and flexiblility to successfully handle conflicting time pressures and a large volume of work including a preparedness for frequent travel



  • Competence to work in MS-Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and in IT technology in general



  • High motivation and work engagement



  • English in excellent written and verbal command
