The production facility in Cologne is part of the MSD Animal Heath production network and manufactures pharmaceutical products according to GMP guidelines. MSD is working according to the MSD Production System (MPS), which is based on Lean Six Sigma and inclusion principles.


 


The Production facility in Cologne is looking for a Maintenance & Repair Lead to manage, coach and develop the Maintenance & Repair team.


 


The Maintenance & Repair Lead will be responsible for:




  • Leading and coaching the Maintenance & Repair team

  • Technical support (ensuring GMP-compliant, technical failure free operation, qualification) for:


    • production equipment

    • Water, media and energy supply systems

    • MSR/Building Control Technology

    • Process automation

  • Technical purchasing within the scope of the relevant area

  • Defining the asset management strategy for the site in cooperation with the Site leadership team

  • Ensuring compliance with GMP regulation and MSD internal guidelines

  • Driving continuous improvement and standardization to achieve highest possible equipment and systems reliability

  • Promoting “Lean” culture and “Inclusive” behaviors

  • Ensuring training and development for all of its team members

  • Enhancing and promoting a safety culture within the team and ensure safety and environment policies and guidelines are followed at all times

  • Supporting inspections performed by external authorities as well as by internal partners

  • Initiating and/or participating in projects in line with the defined site plans

  • Monitoring and controlling the maintenance budget of the site
Qualifications



  • Completed studies in one of the following areas: Chemical engineering, bio-, pharmaceutical-, or food technology or comparable qualification

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the bio-, pharmaceutical industry

  • Demonstrated experience in managing and coaching teams

  • In-depth experience in a GMP-regulated work-field and well known with EHS guidelines

  • In-depth knowledge of the quality-relevant requirements (internal and external) of a GMP-regulated work-field

  • Competent in the field of preventive maintenance and knowledgeable to plant maintenance systems (eg. SAP)

  • Knowledge of (Bio) Process Technology and Operations Management has preference

  • Strong project management and change management skills and proven ability to manage complex projects

  • Demonstrated experience in the use of continuous improvement tools and methodologies (e.g. Lean Manufacturing, Scientific Problem solving)

  • Energetic, positive and enthusiastic team player with hands-on mentality

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to learn quickly

  • Strong communication skills and people-oriented coaching

  • Results oriented

  • Excellent communication skills in both German and English
