MSD Brinny is a leading facility for the development, testing and manufacturing of new biologics and vaccines, exporting to over 90 countries across the world. With a team of approximately 500 people, MSD Brinny specialises in the late-stage development and commercial supply of biotech products, including some of the company's most successful and life-changing treatments for oncology, hepatitis C and rheumatoid arthritis.

The Brinny site has been a vibrant part of the local Innishannon community for nearly 35 years and is now one of the region’s largest employers. MSD has invested €130m in the site since 2016 as a result of increased global demand for MSD medicines and vaccines which will see MSD Brinny further expand its production facilities and capacity to meet this demand.

Our Vaccines start up in MSD Cork have several new vacancies for Process Team Leads. This is a great opportunity to join during a start up phase where you can develop that indepth knowledge that only a start up will afford you.

 

The Process Lead is responsible for team leadership through the active implementation of the Tier process.  He/She will be responsible for moulding a High Performance culture within his/her team by creating an environment of flexibility, collaboration, engagement and teamwork.

 

The Process Lead will be an active member within the cross functional IPT (Integrated Process Team) providing support, guidance and expertise to ensure the success of the IPT.  The Process Lead will model the MSD Leadership behaviors and understand the production principles to drive a culture of continuous improvement building a High Performance Organisation.

 
 
& SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

  • Team leadership by providing ongoing coaching and support to all team members, including the identification and development of key talent and skills within the team.
  • Drive the team’s performance so that every individual understands their individual contribution and how it impacts the site.
  • Ensure supply of high quality product through tactical planning and execution of production schedules.
  • Sound manufacturing stewardship, resource planning, scheduling and control.
  • Consistently deliver on specific area Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), e.g. EHS metrics, Production Plan, OEE, compliance, team training and budget performance.
  • Ensure highest Quality & Compliance standards.
  • Participate and Comply with the MSD Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, including ownership, as relevant to you.
  • Lead and participate in problem solving teams across all areas of the IPT (e.g. reliability, Safety, Quality (e.g. Deviation Management, etc).
  • Lead and close process related deviations and reports

 
 
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE - KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS


  • Level 8 honours degree in a science, engineering or manufacturing discipline.
  • 5 years manufacturing leadership experience within a regulated GMP Environment.
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
  • Knowledge of and experience in applying Lean Six Sigma and Lean methodologies, with an understanding of regulatory and validation requirements.
  • Ability to interact with multiple stakeholders.
  • This role may require you to work shift.
