MSD BIOTECH, DUBLIN

The latest addition to the MSD Ireland family is MSD Biotech, Dublin.  The site will play a pivotal role in the manufacture of MSD’s biologics-based medicines, including in the area of immuno-oncology, and will expand MSD’s current internal network of biologics drug substance manufacturing plants when full manufacturing operations begin in 2021.

MSD Biotech Dublin, will be MSD’s first ever Large-Scale Mammalian-Based Drug Substance Facility, with the mission and ambition to manufacture breakthrough medicines from Ireland for patients around the world.

This facility will be a significant supplier of drug substances for one of MSD’s key treatments and will also be critical in the future supply of new biotechnology products to its global network.

& SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

This is an exciting new role in the Site Engineering team.  The Engineering Departments goal is to be a leader in the area of asset utilization and reliability. In this role you will help support Engineering and Operations by helping to develop, embed and optimize the sites predictive and prescriptive maintenance program with a focus on enhancing the reliability of site assets. No prior experience in reliability engineering is required but the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a keen interest in the principles of reliability.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect and analyse equipment operating and performance data
  • Help to develop and enhance the sites reliability program
  • Monitor equipment performance to identify reliability trends
  • Assist maintenance technicians in the execution of routine and corrective maintenance works
  • Develop and update Digital Performance and Status Dashboards
  • Complete Root Cause Analysis

Will report to Engineering Manager 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE - KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS


General
  • A qualification in Engineering, Science or IT.

Technical

  • Interest in condition monitoring methods and systems
  • Interest in data analytics, modelling and digital information systems
  • Interest in the development of prescriptive and predictive maintenance
  • Knowledge of analysing sensor data and troubleshooting remotely and in person

People

  • Excellent analytical skills and a critical thinker
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a cross functional collaborative environment 
  • High level of attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Confidence to respond positively when under pressure

Education

At minimum a Level 7 qualification in engineering in Engineering, Science or IT
