division works to improve the health of animals around the world through

Coordinate and implement
the Sub –Saharan Africa (SSA) Sales and Marketing strategy to achieve and
exceed the sales objectives within the limits of the allocated budgets.

To coordinate technical
support and provide commercial assistance to the sales and marketing efforts in
Southern African Development Community (SADC) i.e. Botswana, DRC, Lesotho,
Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Malawi, Swaziland, Mauritius and Madagascar.

§  To investigate new business potential in SADC and
co-ordinate product registration and launches through identified clients.



Drive sales of all Ruminants, Companion and Equine
Products in SADC Region.

Complete all relevant reports e.g. monthly reports,
client data cards, meeting reports, Pharmacovigilance (PV) reports.

Liaise between Marketing Managers, Technical Managers
and Key customers.

Plan and co-ordinate campaigns.

Coordinate technical and product support to clients.

Develop and implement strategies regarding key client
budgets in each country.

Training and enquiry support including the PV training
of the distributors / agents.

Results orientated regarding all actions.

§  Attend African national-
and international congresses/conferences for information gathering with
relevance to company business, when required.

Aim to maintain desired margins.

Achieve sales as per target set.

Look for new business opportunities, new product
introduction and expand market share on existing products.

Look after the general business interests MSD Animal

Train and develop skills of immediate reports and MSD
Animal Health agents.

§  Monthly
product forecasting together with the Business Unit Manager, SSA.


§  Veterinary or Para-veterinary

§  Management experience of
at least two years.

§  Strong people management
skills and client relationship skills.

§  Strong business skills.

§  Strong communication

§  Strong technical
background especially on ruminants and companion animals.

§  Marketing and sales
background will be advantageous.

§  Additional languages would
be advantageous.
