Responsibilities:

 

 

This position supports statistical programming activities for the MSD Center for Observational and Real World Evidence (CORE) focusing on the analysis and reporting needs for Health Technology Assessment (HTA) dossiers. 

In this role, the statistical programmer will support the development of scientifically based arguments aiming to provide fair accessibility to our company’s drugs and vaccines making a real difference in patient’s lives. 

 

 

The statistical programmer contributes to the definition and implementation of strategic solutions utilizing SAS to create analysis datasets, tables, listing and figures from clinical trial data. 

 

 

The incubent will work with other programming colleagues to gather and interpret user requirements provided by the HTA statistician, access and retrieve the required data, and transform them into HTA analysis datasets, tables and figures under the guidance of a senior level programmer. 

The statistical programmer will also perform validation activities following departmental SOPs.  

 

 

Primary Activities:



  • Programmatically develop, validate and maintain analysis and reporting deliverables for HTA dossiers


  • Assure deliverable quality and compliance with departmental SOPs and good programming practices


  • Collaborate effectively with project team members; be a valued part of project teams
Qualifications


Education and Experience:



  • MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Life Sciences, Engineering or related analytical field with a first experience in SAS programming appied to the analysis and reporting of late stage clinical trials


  • Excellent verbal and written English

 

Position Specific Required  Skills and Experience:



  • Successful experience in code development using programming languages (for instance in SAS)


  • Ability to quickly and effectively learn new program techniques and data structures; capacity to seamlessly assimilate to new projects


  • Basic understanding of statistics, clinical and data management concepts as applied to drug/vaccine development within the pharmaceutical industry


  • Ability to comprehend analysis plans which may describe HTA research and statistical programming methodology to be programmed

 

** Preferred Skills and Experience:



  • SAS programming experience including SAS/BASE, SAS/MACRO, SAS/GRAPH, etc


  • Experience in supporting analysis and reporting deliverables for HTA dossiers


  • Understanding of statistical terminology and concepts


  • Unix operating system experience; Oracle SQL experience; systems and database experience


  • Knowledge in CDISC SDTM and ADaM standards


  • Working knowledge of reporting processes (SOPs) and software development life-cycle (SDLC)


  • Ability and interest to work across cultures and geographies
