As an addition to our Customer Unit Market Access team based in our MSD site in Lucerne, Switzerland, we are looking for a Senior Specialist Market Access (m/f) (permanent full-time contract), responsible for the listing of MSD products on the list of reimbursed drugs in Switzerland and for the implementation of the MSD pricing strategy.
 
This position offers a distinct opportunity to support patient access to innovative medicine and to be involved in the building and implementation of MSD Switzerland pricing strategy. The submission of pricing dossiers and the negotiations with authorities ask for deep knowledge of the swiss health care and pricing system as well as a sound understanding of the concerned therapeutic areas. There also needs to be a strong awareness for the business implications of MSD pricing activities. Therefore, a strong cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders is an important mandate of this position.
 
The primary activities include but are not limited to:
 
Pricing and Reimbursement Activities
 
  • Build and implement pricing strategies for MSD products in Switzerland allowing fast access to innovative medicine for Swiss patients
  • Conduct price reviews for concerned products
  • Develop state of the art value dossiers for BAG submissions based on WZW (efficacy, appropriateness and economic value)
  • Take responsibility for the interactions and negotiations with the pricing authorities (BAG)
  • Pro-active support of our business colleagues with product launches or with late life cycle management of products losing exclusivity
 
Collaboration with Regional and Global Teams
 
  • Primary point of contact for pricing related questions for a specific set of products. Assures an effective two-way communication between global/regional teams and the local subsidiary
  • Assures involvement of all relevant key stakeholders in order to develop and implement MSD Switzerland pricing strategies
  • Assures appropriate knowledge transfer of new launch products between team members
Qualifications

Qualifications:
 
  • Master's Degree Life Sciences, (para-)Medical or Economics, alternatively Bachelor's Degree with several years of experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in pharmaceutical pricing
  • Proven track record in pharmaceutical market access
  • Experience with the Swiss authorities and understanding of the Swiss healthcare system
  • Experience in Marketing, Medical, Policy or Clinical Research would be an asset
  • Very strong German communication skills (native level) and proficient English knowledge. Knowledge of other European languages such as French and Italian is advantageous
  • We are looking for a person with sound experience in pricing and with a strong sense of teamwork, openness and engagement
  • Optimal cross-functional collaboration with regional and local market access, value demonstration & affordability as well as marketing and medical colleagues will be key for long-term success
