Sr Specialist, Continuous Improvement Job

Merck Sharp & Dohme’s (MSD) Regional Delivery Centers (RDC), located across three regions (Americas, Europe, and Asia), are responsible for the timely and efficient delivery of standardized, global financial processes. The RDC – APAC in Malaysia will be responsible for the execution and delivery of a broad range of financial services and processes across MSD business divisions and markets for the APAC region.



The Senior Specialist Continuous Improvement role is responsible for driving in operations across all work stream, managing projects of the RDC and support deploying new technologies to drive efficiency into operations, inclusive of BPO activities.



The RDC will be responsible for the following Continuous Improvement activities:
• Working with the RDC leadership to Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Working with the BPO leadership to Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Deploy new technologies / systems in support of end to end Service Delivery Model
• Support Ad hoc projects Locally, Regionally or Globally
• Provide support to finance CAPTIVE/BPO colleagues


 


Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:



• Support the achievement of finance and business objectives by driving efficiency into the RDC scope of services
• Perform Six Sigma or Lean analysis and other problem solving activities to identify effective process improvements and resolution for any identified problem
• Work collaboratively with business and finance partners to identify improvement opportunities into operations
• Participate in certain Controls review, self-assessments of the RDC delivery scope
• Prepare ad-hoc reports & analysis using company financial reporting tools and enterprise systems
• Enhance budgeting and forecasting processes through continuous improvement efforts
• Contribute to ongoing MSD efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support development and review of all defined KPIs and SLA’s. Support strategies to achieve objectives and goals while effectively managing service delivery cost
• Maintain consistent and efficient processes within the RDC delivery scope
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values and standards of ethics and integrity
• Bring a high level of energy to contribute to the creation of a high performing RDC team

Qualifications

Required:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in Financial / Project Management and 2 years in a Shared services environment
• SIX SIGMA / Lean certification experience
• Working proficiency of US GAAP
• Business Level fluency 90% (oral and written) in English. Other languages optional.



Preferred:
• Professional experience at an organization with operations across multiple countries
• Experience with internal controls and process standardization preferred
• Project Management experience
• Pharmaceutical industry experience
• CPA or MBA
