As Program Manager you will

Main
DUTIES:
The Program manager has responsibility for program management of IT Divisional initiatives that support MSD's business strategies and collaborates with the IT Client Service Leaders in partnering with the relevant business and IT areas to effectively coordinate execution of strategic projects. Integral to this activity is the development, implementation, and administration of sound project management disciplines, as well as coordination of change management in the business.

Day2day job:
  • Manages client commitment and leadership expectations in terms of program status, upcoming milestones, scope, budgets, quality, and delivery of benefits.
  • Collaborates on the development of business cases, manages deliverable estimation process, resource allocation and utilization efficiently and negotiates resource conflicts with other managers 
  • Establish the project governance definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Creates and maintains master program plan, schedules and reviews them with the appropriate IT and business partners and steering committees. 
  • Facilitates vendor identification, selection and contracting. Coordinates internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. 
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Provides oversight of IT solution execution; responsible for working with the solution managers to ensure coordination; ensures that the correct supply-side and infrastructure services staff are made available to support the project. Manage and maintain the comprehensive project documentation following the Software Delivery Lifecycle Methodology. 
  • Provides ongoing status updates on project progress, risks, change management and issue resolution. Leads issue identification, tracking, escalation and resolution documentation. Monitors risk events before becoming issues and potential roadblocks.
  • Responsible for components of: communications management, schedule management, resource management, finance management, quality management, scope management, control management, and benefits management as they relate to the overall program. 
  • Accountable for ensuring that all work is performed in compliance with applicable policies, laws and regulations. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

What we need
  • Strong proficiency in Project and Program Management, with more than five years’ experience of IT project management guiding projects (>$1MM) from inception to close-out.
  • Strong communication (written, oral, presentation), negotiation, influencing and relationship skills along with high personal integrity, credibility, and energy at all levels of the organization. 
  • Solid understanding of the value of Analytics, Master Data management and other disciplines than underpin good Analytics practices
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and define business problems, develop business cases, and advise business owners on managing risks.
  • Competent in the use of PPM, project management and analytical software tools. Knowledge of MS Project Server and SharePoint project portfolio management processes and reporting tools.
  • Experience in managing third-party vendors and development partners in global environment.
  • Ability to make a positive contribution as demonstrated by learning new skills and makings suggestions for process/procedure improvement. 
  • Awareness of relevant industry business, information and technology trends.
  • Ability to manage through complexity and ambiguity along with competing priorities.
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior program and project managers.
Education requirement
  • BS or Advanced degree in Scientific or Engineering field
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification 
  • Six Sigma certification (plus)

  • Experience working in regulated environments (GxP, FDA) and with SDLC methodologies, with preference for Pharmaceutical Clinical Development or Safety experience
