The Senior Release Manager
How do you release new applications, makes updates and add changes to a health care leader's IT environment without users noticing a glitch in services? In MSD our Release Management Office tackles this very challenge. As a member of the team, you work with Software Engineers to ensure our products seamlessly move from development through roll out and into production. You are excited by complex systems and the challenges that come from working with large computing systems. From changing the look of an application to back end changes, we are constantly pushing updates and iterating on all of our products.

Using your technical expertise, you co-ordinate the release management activities in a project and lead complex application releases for production and develop major improvement to tools and processes.
We are looking for passionate and experienced professionals with application operations background willing to work in an agile way to deliver value to the business in the fastest way possible and bring new ideas.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with IT project teams to develop and provide release management services. 
  • Develop release plans, define and construct IT environments, establish structured source code management practice, plan and execute releases and more.
  • Work in a global team's set of services through the Prague office to support IT activities in the region and across the company’s global footprint.
  • Coach and mentor all levels of the organization to adopt methodologies and tools to improve the release management services.
  • Learn business processes related to systems and functional work area being supported.
  • Ensure releases are deployed successfully and transitioned to an operational status.
  • Participation in our service evolution through development and adoption.
Qualifications

  • BSc degree or equivalent with relevant experience in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 to many years of experience in software engineering, release engineering and/or configuration management.
  • Familiarity with software configuration management systems and/or source code version control systems.
  • Experience with operations support for applications in a business environment.
  • Experience with IT Service Management and/or Operational Support.
  • ITIL process knowledge.
