The Senior Business Analyst Supply Chain is enabling system and decision support capabilities for the supply chain group as part of our MSD International Supply Chain Operations hub in Lucerne/Switzerland. The incumbent is expected to drive the integration of analytics and optimization tools in order to deliver the Global Integrated Business Planning and visibility requirements. The role supports the business in combining data and technology to enable best practice processes and in creating business insights to deliver improved supply chain performance and business outcomes. Accordingly he/she is the go-to-person for complex analytics and business insight for decision support. This position will collaborate with different stakeholders across our end-to-end Supply Chain functions and is critical to delivering change through the transfer of capability by training and coaching the supply chain community.

Primary activities include, but are not limited to:

Business Analytics and Reporting




  • Process data from Enterprise platforms using appropriate tools to enhance understanding of supply chain performance and challenges for different supply chain functions.


  • Deliver analytics support to planning groups and management teams for decision making also as part of the monthly/annual Integrated Business Planning execution cycles.


  • Develop the capability on a standard platform to publish standard KPIs/Dashboards/Reports and periodically report results also suggesting counter-measures for continuous improvement as required.


  • Provide the business with value enhancing insight from the analysis of data and be able to communicate what this means and how they can act on it.


  • Develop and run scenario planning models to assess risk to our business plans and recommend actions to overcome gaps.


Supply Chain Optimization Tools




  • Work with business owners and other end users to determine business requirements in order to achieve user satisfaction.


  • Support the delivery of Supply Chain Optimisation Tools with IT solution teams by driving alignments between technology, data and business process.


  • Act as a “path-finder” in the testing, adoption and maturing of new tools to meet a business process or analytics need.


  • Be a super user and coach for the transfer of new capability into the business operations and sustain it until embedded.


  • Leverage tools and systems to quickly access data and present meaningful, concise information to various stakeholders.

Business Execution Support




  • Train and Support colleagues in the adoption of analytical tools and systems.


  • Provide operational support for supply chain initiatives including, but not limited to: analyzing data, managing projects, creating cross functional action plans, scheduling meetings to drive objectives to completion.


  • Will leverage an extensive SC knowledge to ensure analytics and decision making tools enable business value (enable alignement between cost / service / inventory / quality).


  • Coach others in acquiring the knowledge around data sources and data models so that they can “self-serve” for operational analytics in their role, in so doing, act as a “multiplier” in delivering business objectives.

Qualifications

Education, Skills and Experience:




  • Master's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Research, Information Systems or related business field required.


  • APICS CPIM or CSCMP certification is an advantage.


  • Minimum 5 years’ business experience with strong Supply Chain and/or Business Analytics experience.


  • Strong communication & stakeholder management skills


  • Proven ability to apply strong analytical and problem solving skills to support decision-making and to create value.


  • Sound business acumen and understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain functions.


  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.


  • Previous experience of analyzing large complex data sets.


  • MS Office skills: Proven experience in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Visio required.


  • Computer skills: proficiency in SAP ECC/APO/BI/BO is required, experience in VBA programming is preferred, knowledge in Tibco Spotfire will be a plus
