The Role

MSD Asia Pacific is accelerating its Digital Transformation to differentiate through Digital and Data & Analytics which will provide 4 main sources of value:

  • ENGAGE with payers, patients, and providers through personalized experiences using a combination of in-person and digital channels
  • DECIDE based on deep insights from real-time integrated data analytics
  • AUTOMATE end-to-end core commercial business processes 
  • INNOVATE and partner to implement digitally enabled healthcare solutions aligned to integrated business strategies and customer needs

Reporting to the Global Digital Transformation Center for Excellence (DXCOE) lead, the AP digital transformation lead is responsible for ensuring design, installation and realization of digital capabilities for the Asia Pacific region as well as the development and support the execution of market-level digital transformation roadmaps, in close collaboration with markets, franchises, IT and other enabling functions. 

Furthermore, the Regional Lead will directly manage a AP Digital Transformation Associate Director ensuring allocation of work in alignment with CoE responsibilities and their personal development.


  • Guides prioritized markets through the integrated digital roadmap development and supports its implementation
  • As primary interface with markets, leads and deploys cross-functional expert teams (IT, Marketing, and other expertise as needed) to identify digital execution priorities per market and craft into digital roadmaps
  • Applies a deep understanding of individual market dynamics including knowledge of the customer, technology and partnership landscape that will drive strategic digital choices; couples this with deep knowledge of all available capabilities to design and support delivery of market implementation roadmaps
  • Identifies strategic and executional roadmap synergies across multiple markets; facilitates deployment of Digital resources, capitalizing on synergies. 
  • Manages and coaches cross-functional teams to ensure that digital milestones as agreed with market senior leaders are achieved on time and within budget. 
  • Discerns market-level learnings and case examples that are relevant for broad sharing and distribution to other markets / regions


Required Attributes:

  • Located preferably in Singapore
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and cross-regionally across multiple business units and with senior leaders
  • Strong experience in building a data-oriented environment where Data is core to inform business decisions
  • Innovative thinker 
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to vision as well as execute complex initiatives in matrix structures
  • Extensive exposure to product commercialization and experience in how to tap into the power of digital to drive and differentiate franchise leverage points  
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation and communication skills, both written and oral, are required to synthesize key issues, and communicate/persuade constituencies towards specific actions and initiatives
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships and external relationships; proven leadership skills and experience in managing teams
  • Well organized, highly motivated, process driven and results oriented with the ability to rebalance priorities and assume responsibility in a multi-tasking environment
  • Strong change management experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent from an accredited university Experience working on a large digital transformation
  • Deep knowledge and experience working globally 
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 50%
  • Fluency in English
