Primary job responsibilities include:

Join MSD Singapore IT Hub as we manage and extend our core IT services to support the growth of our business into the intersection of healthcare, information and technology.

In the ever increasing complex IT environment, releasing new applications, making updates and adding changes without users noticing a glitch in the services becomes an increasingly complex operation. In MSD, the Release Management Office tackles this very challenge. As a member of the global release management team (who are located across our 3 hubs Singapore Prague, US and our vendor partners located at offshore centers), you will work with Software Engineers and various stake holders to ensure our products seamlessly move from development through roll out and into production.

We are looking for passionate and experienced professionals with technical application backgrounds willing to work in both an agile way or classic way to deliver value to the business in the fastest way possible, while bring new ideas and maintaining high standards.

On a day to day basis:

Release Management (50%):
• Partnering with project leaders and delivery teams to develop and provide release management services across the IT solution lifecycle. This includes the development of release plans, definition and construction of development and test environments, establishing structured source code management practice, planning and executing releases and more.
• Assist in managing projects and interdependencies with focus on release management activities.
• System and environment creation and management across development, test and production.
• Ensuring releases/applications are deployed successfully and transitioned to operational status
• Working closely across the service organization to help deliver a cohesive, integrated and coordinated capabilities that include Release Management, Testing, Change Management and Configuration Management

Release Automation/Engineering (50%):
• Review the manual approach, constructing an automated/programmatic design and executing on the design
• Develop scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms.
• Assisting in the development, deployment, adoption and practice of innovative services such as deployment automation, code management, test data management, continuous deployment/delivery/integration and more in support of delivery, deployment and operational activities


Education Minimum Requirement:
MSc Degree or BSc Degree or equivalent with relevant experience in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, Math, or equivalent experience

Experience/Technical Skills:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in software engineering, release engineering and/or configuration management.
• Knowledge in Amazon AWS, Oracle, Linux, Unix and windows administration, especially experience of systems administrator type roles.
• Proven experience in scripting languages
• Proven experience in at least one test automation toolset
• Knowledge in ETL Tools – Informatica
• Knowledge in SQL and programming languages
• Ability to be productive in an independent and a collaborative team structure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in delivering presentations
• Attention to detail and focus on quality

Preferred Experience and Skills:
• Experience in IT Service Management and/or Operational Support is a plus.
• Experience in Master Data Management ( MDM ) – Siperian
• Experience in Plutora, Autorabit
• Knowledge in Agile development, CD/CI

• Affinity with pharmaceutical industry or regulated industry is preferred.
