  • Manages Project in API Facility (namely: Steroid Facility; Synthesis Facility, Small Scale Facility; MPP Facility, New API facility and associated scrubber/VOC system)
  • Implement Process improvement projects to meet with new technology, new engineering standards and new code and practices for process & energy efficiencies, process safety and quality compliance.
  • Develops and strategize plan to optimize existing equipment to support new product introduction to the API Facility.
  • Develops and administers engineering change control and process safety assessment on site related to projects in the API Facility
  • Coordinate with GES, GSE or Global Functional group SME's in implementation of projects for API facility
Other responsibilities include:

Engineering
  • Project Lead for projects related to Utilities/facility, including coordination of utilities/system design, budgeting and budget control, schedule development and control, project implementation and site supervision; project IQ, OQ/PQ support and project close-out.
  • Administers related engineering change control and process safety/IH evaluation/study.
  • Coordinate with ES/IPT SME's for the set-up of calibration of instruments, PM program and spare parts management.
  • Coordinate with site ES/IPT's stakeholders in the development of project user requirements or scoping, design specifications and qualification requirements for related API project management.
  • Selection of contractors and vendors, complying with Site Procurement procedure, to implement the API related projects.
Management of Resources
  • Supervises and manage projects with QP engineers, engineering companies (EPCM), engineering vendor engineers and staff of engineering companies.
  • Manages site construction with engagement (bidding, tendering, selection) of contractors to implement API projects.
  • Collaborates, co-ordinates, communicates, manages and implements new corporate or site or department initiatives
Management of Change Control
  • Oversees engineering/ process improvement initiatives/ changes adhere to site change control procedures
  • Oversees testing, commissioning, qualification (IQ, OQ) activities are executed accordingly and in compliance
  • Responsible for overseeing feasibility studies/ reviews, hazards and operability studies/reviews on new and modified processes
  • Ensure that deliverables are met and all associated documentation is established
Management of Maintenance, Utilities & Facilities
  • Oversees utility / process / system qualification program and systems for maintaining the qualified state of equipment / system
  • Oversees maintenance and repair programs, and improvement initiatives/ changes adhere to site change control procedures
  • Ensure that deliverables are met and all associated documentation is established
  • Responsible for the compliance commitments related to maintenance and facilities
Management of Capital Plans & Projects
  • Responsible for overseeing of the capital plan requirements due to known vulnerabilities within the facility and budgetary responsibility. This includes, a multi-year direction for capital improvements
  • Acts as key expert resource for handling more complex project engineering issues
  • Responsible for the management of a number of large important projects or a single project of major scope and importance from initial evaluation through to completion within the allotted timeline, budget, design requirements, and established quality standards
  • Responsible for the technical support to process control systems projects
Cost / Budget Control and Management
  • Responsible for overseeing of the capital plan requirements within the facility and budgetary responsibility
  • Develops, tracks and manages annual maintenance operating budget and cost control plan
  • Where necessary, to conduct value engineering or project least cost analysis to ensure projects can be implemented in the most cost effective manner without affecting safety and quality compliance standards.
VC, RFT, Kaizen Program
  • Collaborates, co-ordinates, communicates, manages and implements new corporate or site or department initiatives
  • Develops, reviews and modifies new existing site standards and / or maintenance practices / processes to improve effectiveness and efficiency of work and/or reliability of equipment / system
  • Advocates and champions development and implementation of VC / RFT /Kaizen projects
KPI, Compliance, Standards & New Technologies
  • Develops, tracks and manages department key performance indices and oversees reporting is in alignment to department, site and corporate requirements
  • Responsible for the compliance commitments related to engineering maintenance and systems
  • Develops, reviews and modifies new or existing site standards for maintenance and projects
  • Evaluate new technologies and apply them within the facility as required
EHS
  • Advocate for EHS improvement initiatives, and draws from industry network to implement best practices
  • Coordinates IH or HAZOP or other safety assessment with stakeholders or with contractors
  • Review Job Safety Assessment from contractors

  • Participate in EHS, Business Compliance, cGMP and all other compliance-related matters, where applicable. This can include specific duties involving in maintaining qualified status of equipment by timely application of and reporting exceptions to the GMP systems supporting the qualified state.
  •  Supervise and oversee Third Party Contractors, where applicable.
  • Any other tasks as and when assigned by Supervisors.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (prefers in the related field) or equivalent
  • Advance degree, such as Masters a plus
  • 10+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical or related chemical process industry
