As a Maintenance Engineer, you will plan, direct, and support Production, Project, Calibration, Validation and Maintenance activities in order that equipment, systems and facilities are safe, efficiently utilized, reliable and meet GMP/ regulatory. Your key responsibilities include:

Routine work

  • Provides MEI engineering and troubleshooting support with the goal to increase operational efficiencies and minimize maintenance expenses.
  • Coach technicians on troubleshooting technical problems.
  • Provides engineering supports to the corrective and preventive maintenance for MEI systems.
  • Ensures E2E ownership. This includes installation, modification, fabrication, testing, servicing and repairs of equipment instruments that comply to site change control procedures.
  • Provides technical support to process control systems projects by standardizing the instrument use and makes improvement to MEI work.

Project work

  • Manages maintenance related project schedule, costs and quality utilizing proper controls
  • Develops, reviews and modifies new or existing site standards for maintenance and projects
  • Ensures that projects deliverables are met and all associated documentation is established
  • Provides engineering support in the scoping, development, execution and documentation of upgrade projects. 
  • Responsible for the management of single or multiple projects within the allotted timeline, budget, design requirements, and established quality standards.

Others

  • Performs job assignments by Supervisor pertaining to equipment instrument or system or documentation or housekeeping
  • Establishes SHE objectives for projects, and leads the implementation of systems
  • Assumes role of System Administrator for process control system
  • Development of technical procedures in a cross-functional setting with impact throughout the organization
  • Participate in SHE, Business Compliance, cGMP and all other compliance-related matters, where applicable
  • Standby for any emergency repair after office hours / weekends and public holidays (bring down)
  • Supervise and oversee Third Party Contractors, where applicable
  • Any other duties as and when assigned by the Managers

Qualifications

  • To be successful to the role, ideally, you will need to have a Degree in Electrical/Electronics, Instrumentation and Control, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering
  • 3 - 5 years of related experience in maintenance function, preferably in a sterile manufacturing plant, wafer fab cleanroom or petrochemical environment.
  • Good knowledge of SCADA System and Programmable Logic Controllers (Siemens S5/S7) with good understanding of the pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
  • Good knowledqe of cGMP and safety requlations of pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of Engineering and Compliance standards
  • Demonstrates excellent problem solving skills ie provides solutions which are practical for implementation. 
  • Able to properly assess the situation and understand when to escalate to a higher levels
  • Competent in root cause analysis, able to analyze information from a variety of sources to make sound decisions
  • Ability to work independently
