Position Overview
Responsible for delivering public data analysis, interpretation and tool development to differentiate MSD with customers.
Ensuring tools and data solutions developed support the GHH commercial model and drive business growth
Supporting the development of systems and third party relationships to be able to cope with big data and software solutions to demonstrate the Insights from Big Data Analytics

Developing the skills needed to exploit the data and managing the issues of data privacy and security.

Key Activities for Data Solutions:
• Promotional Effectiveness, Sensitivity and ROI Modelling, Multi-channel Strategy Analysis
• Innovative Segmentation and Targeting techniques, customer and geographical restructures
• Value Based Local (CCG) Open Data, Data linkage/ Care.Data, Business analysis and Tools
• Customer Intelligence to understand Priorities and Needs from National/Regional/local Commissioning leveraging real world data
• Open Data Set Management and Integration
• IT Tools and Infrastructure i.e. Analyser, external vendor management inc. NHS engagement
• Sub-National Business Tool Management i.e. Mirror, Account Ability Tool
• Data Analytics Centre of Excellence, supporting Regional Best Practice
Product and Market Focus
Understand the products and services responsible for supporting and staying abreast of current product marketing strategy as well as factors affecting market dynamics.
Understand the customer environment and developing trends to ensure an effective capture of customer intelligence to inform planning and customer engagement.
Build up to date knowledge of Real World Data Assets available from the NHS and related organisations
Understand the data governance that needs to be followed and how these can be used to deliver data solutions aligned to business needs

Professional Conduct

Follow all company policies, business practices and compliance guidelines including Market Research SOP, COP SOP, Real world data governance policies and AE Reporting guidelines.

Knowledge Required:
Strong product, therapy and service business area knowledge for MSD products and key competitors supporting
Good understanding of NHS and broader health landscape as well as dynamics of the changing customer environment and implications for data solutions required
Good understanding of the developing field of available public data and the market place and implications to inform developing outputs in this arena.

Qualifications

Knowledge Required:
Strong product, therapy and service business area knowledge for MSD products and key competitors supporting

Good understanding of NHS and broader health landscape as well as dynamics of the changing customer environment and implications for data solutions required

Good understanding of the developing field of available public data and the market place and implications to inform developing outputs in this arena.

Skills and Competencies Required:
Technical / Experience -
• High numeracy, analytical, statistical and critical reasoning skills
• Strong Microsoft experience
• Good communication skills

• Ability to work with multiple complex datasets
• Good planning, prioritisation, co-ordination and output oriented
• Good Problem solving and decision making
• Organized and detail oriented
• Ideally 3 years+ in Analytical functional roles within the pharmaceutical, biotech or medical industries
• Good understanding of data sources, real world data assets, governance and their application
• Marketing and market understanding in areas supporting
• Understanding of analytical methodologies, techniques and guidelines
• External Agency engagement and project management
Business Acumen – works closely with franchise teams to provide recommendations on the appropriate data solutions to support business requirements through the provision of quality tools and analysis.

Impact – Comfortable raising potential risks and concerns with franchise teams and involving Data Solutions Team Manager as required

Influencing – Work collaboratively with team to drive the use of real world data assets to ensure we differentiate MSD with customers

Decision Making – works collaboratively with teams to surface issues and drive for timely decisions to ensure development and implementation of quality data solution deliverables.

Strategic Thinking – Support the delivery of the MSD real world data strategy working alongside the Data Solutions Team and Team Manager, by providing high quality data tools and analysis solutions
