Reporting to the Appropriate Business Unit (BU) Marketing Lead the Animal Health (AH) Marketing Graduate will work as part of one of our Business Unit marketing teams. The Graduate will be responsible for a number of projects and will have their own product portfolio of Animal Health (AH) products to meet identified objectives for sales, product positioning, market growth and profitability.

With the support of the BU marketing teams and in conjunction with the Technical and Sales Teams the role will develop both strategic and operational marketing plans for their products and input into the BU’s operating plan. The incumbent will work with the teams to formulate annual plans and objectives for promotions and campaigns in line with overall AH marketing strategy.

The role is a real business position and will have measurable impact on the Business Unit.

In addition there will be an opportunity to learn about the wider Animal Health business, visiting and getting to know our customers with members of the sales team and understanding business operations whist working with the Customer Service and Logistics teams.

You will have an assignment project to present to the AH Senior Leadership Team at the end of the year.

This role is based at head office in Milton Keynes with 10% travel as required.

Key Responsibilities:
• The development of strategic and operational marketing plans for assigned AH products in collaboration with BU Managers.
• Actively contribute to the development of the Business Unit’s Plans,
• Working with the marketing team on new product/services launches and in-market product life-cycle management
• Assist in the development of Promotional plans, seasonal variation forecasts
• Work with finance and BU colleagues to learn and input into the budgeting and pricing processes
• Take part in National Sales Conferences, presenting to the BU Sales Team

Development Objectives:
• Understand the Animal Health business, the marketing environment and identify the levers determining success
• Understand and build a strong network in customer service and logistics teams
• Understand how global and regional marketing teams impact national plans and performance
• Learn the importance of the National Accounts Business Unit, how it operates and work with them to achieve the BU and overall business plans
• Build a network of colleagues that will support you through your first 12 month placement and onward throughout your career.


• Degree level in life science, business, marketing or agriculture.
• An understanding of Digital marketing is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills - verbal and written – fluency in English a requirement.
• Strong presentation skills
• Commercial acumen including good understanding of industry-relevant financial data and the ability to analyse and interpret a range of financial information
• Ability to obtain, analyse and interpret industry relevant market intelligence and market research data to derive conclusions and recommend creative solutions
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Strong influencing and networking skills
