Position Overview - Basic Functions & Responsibility Description

Accountable for the effective planning and delivery of vaccine blending and filling (FPU) manufacture at the Milton Keynes site; in accordance with GMP requirements and company policy and procedures. The incumbent is a pivotal member of the IPT1 (Antigen & FPU) team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensures compliance with applicable Safety and Quality laws and regulations
• Building and leading a high performing team. Coaching and developing team members to reach their full potential and providing regular guidance, recognition and feedback through regular individual and team meetings.
• Manages talent to ensure robust succession plans and knowledge transfer and provides developmental experiences to exploit talent pool potential to the fullest.
• Sets clear priorities and SMART objectives for the team, ensures all team members have a meaningful development plan and the opportunity for career development discussions and that these are recorded in Mycareer. Holds regular 1 to 1 meetings with their direct reports to provide feedback and coaching on performance, behaviors and to regularly review progress against performance and development plans.
• Works with direct reports and relevant HR COEs to manage team and individual changes and ensure these are correctly reflected in HtR.
• Ensures Continuous Improvement; at all levels of the business, and drives the organisation for ongoing productivity, customer satisfaction and profitability improvement.
• Provides leadership to manufacturing projects at all phases
• Develops an operating budget and initiates action to operate within those fiscal plans.
• Prepares and presents project status and briefings to the IPT.
• Delivers against the product development plan.
• Solves complex technical problems and provides effective and innovative solutions.
• Manages functional resources, processes, and procedures of the antigen departments and ensures technical, cost and schedule objectives of the departments are met.
• Directs all departmental staff in the management of their assigned areas to ensure that their responsibilities to attain objectives and satisfactory operation and performance are met in a way that is consistent with established policies and programs.
• Analyses and appraises, regularly and systematically, the effectiveness of all operations to ensure that established objectives will be met, that company polices will be observed, and that prompt corrective action will be taken when necessary.
• Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organisation.
• Is fully accountable for the Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost for the FPU departments

Qualifications

Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications Required for the Role

The Operational Coach is a key, senior level position, reporting directly to the IPT lead. The incumbent must have previous experience in vaccine blending and aseptic filling. The requirements below are representative of the expected knowledge, skill and ability Required:

• Demonstrated success as a team leader is essential and experience in leading leaders is preferred
• Degree in Science or related technical field with a minimum of 8 years combined experience.
• Minimum of 5 years working with ERP, SAP and MRP environments
• Minimum of 5 years’ hands on experience with all of the following: change control management; coordination and oversight of technical work effort; and risk and opportunity management.
• Must have knowledge of full manufacturing lifecycle from start to finish.
• Experience leading manufacturing teams through quick-turn projects managing technical, schedule and costs.
• Requires professional written and verbal communication skills including briefings and presentations.
• Strong interpersonal skills in order to lead, collaborate and work effectively with all levels of internal and external customers.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
