The Oncology Medical Affairs Manager Women’s Cancer is part of the MSD Oncology Customer Business Line (CBL) in Argentina. It is a key strategic leadership role requiring therapeutic area expertise to identify and address the relevant medical needs of clinical practice. This position has a significant impact on our ability to effectively translate medical science into relevant business opportunities with high standards of local regulatory and compliance requirements. The role requires the ability to interact with a sort of different internal and external stakeholders like key scientific leaders, marketing and sales peers, decision makers, payers as well as regulatory authorities in order to effectively address technical issues for MSD products and therapeutic areas of interest. It also requires extraordinary leadership and empathy to successfully thrive a high performance team. The Oncology Medical Manager Women’s Cancer needs to be versatile in different pathology areas as to be able to cover different indications for MSD oncology products. Also, the Medical Affairs Manager acts as a guardian for high standards of compliance, ethics, and safety of Merck/MSD products, putting patients at the center of his/her actions. Expertise in people management is not a must but is welcome.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Scientific Leadership:
o Main focus but not limited to women’s cancer’s
o Responsible for scientific knowledge management, translating information into strategic advice on oncology for MSD products / competitors;
o Interaction with Scientific Leaders (SL) providing support to business units;
o Organize and conduct local advisory boards and Expert Input Forum meetings and collect customer needs from SLs;
o Attend stand alone and satellite scientific events.
o Provides medical information requests/answers to questions from local customers.
o Manage agendas of MSD scientific events including sponsorships to local scientific leaders.
• MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS
o The Oncology Medical Affairs Manager Women’s Cancer will be responsible for assisting in dotted line our Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) team
o Aligns people and projects to achieve initiatives.
o Assures MSL´s are trained and knowledgeable on specific oncology areas and scientific information
o Values cultural diversity and other individual differences in the workforce, ensuring that the organization builds on these differences.
o Assures high ethical standards and complete adherence of Merck/MSD Value and standards.
• Internal Support:
o Support to products teams, providing scientific support to achieve strategic/performance objectives;
o Support to inclusion of our products in hospital formularies and in local therapeutic guidelines;
o Participate in strategic defense of MSD products with key decisions makers;
o Advise to legal and regulatory departments on the inquiries concerning MSD products;
o Provide sales representatives technical training.
o Supervise personnel – Team of Medical Scientific Liaison
• Medical Review:
o Review of all materials of his/her therapeutic areas ensuring medical relevance and compliance with regulations, all in accordance with internal guidelines;
• Regulatory
o Advises Regulatory Affairs on the medical and scientific aspects of MSD products;
• Pharmacovigilance
o Provides support to activities that assure reporting of Pharmacovigilance cases
• Clinical Trials
o Provide suggestions for clinical research (investigators, objectives, design, sites, and studies) upon request;
o Manage post-development portfolio of studies including IISPs and local studies of respective area.
Qualifications

Requirements:
Required:
o MD University degree from accredited university having at least 5 years as graduated.
o Previous experience in the oncology field, preferable in the area of women’s cancer (breast, ovarian, cervix, endometrial)
o Excellent communication skills
o Fluent in English.
• Desired
o Oncology or inmunology speciality background
o Experience with international/local clinical research and Pharmacovigilance
o Solid knowledge of a variety of disease areas and therapies in oncology
