MSD BIOTECH, DUBLIN

The latest addition to the MSD Ireland family is MSD Biotech, Dublin. The site will play a pivotal role in the manufacture of MSD’s biologics-based medicines, including in the area of immuno-oncology, and will expand MSD’s current internal network of biologics drug substance manufacturing plants when full manufacturing operations begin in 2021.

MSD Biotech Dublin, will be MSD’s first ever Large-Scale Mammalian-Based Drug Substance Facility, with the mission and ambition to manufacture breakthrough medicines from Ireland for patients around the world.

This facility will be a significant supplier of drug substances for one of MSD’s key treatments and will also be critical in the future supply of new biotechnology products to its global network.

& SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

The Maintenance Planner will oversee the planning of Maintenance and Reliability activities in Process Areas, ensuring productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of resources, materials and equipment access. They wll play a key role in start-up activities with interaction and communication with Operations and other Engineering teams.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for both reliability and maintenance planning for Process Equipment Areas.
• Development of Integrated Plans for start up activities and input into production master schedules.
• Development of metrics and reports.
• Development of service agreements and working with Procurement on contracts.
• Managing service contracts service providers to maintenance of equipment.
• Provide input to Budget and Asset Lifecycle Plans.
• Perform site walks to verify EHS and Quality standards are adhered.
• Develop and provide input into Operating Procedures and Training materials.
• Identification of improvement opportunities and lead small projects.
• Training of staff and contractors.

Will report to Engineering Manager, Upstream or Downstream
Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE - KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

General
• Experience of process maintenance in a biologics facility or similar facility


Technical
• Experience of predictive and preventative maintenance planning
• Experience of managing vendors and contractors
• Advance knowledge of SAP or another Maintenance Management System, spotfire or other data analytics tools
• Experience of working with production on complex master schedules
• Visual Management and real time performance display
• Expertise / Understanding of high risk activities –eg Confined Space Entry, Hot Works, Line Breaking, Electrical Switching
• Problem Solving and Decision Making

People
• Excellent organising and planning skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and also as part of a team in a cross functional collaborative environment
• High level of attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
• Confidence to respond positively when under pressure

Education
• Level 7 Engineering qualification with evidence of continuous professional development.
