MSD BIOTECH, DUBLIN

The latest addition to the MSD Ireland family is MSD Biotech, Dublin. The site will play a pivotal role in the manufacture of MSD’s biologics-based medicines, including in the area of immuno-oncology, and will expand MSD’s current internal network of biologics drug substance manufacturing plants when full manufacturing operations begin in 2021.

MSD Biotech Dublin, will be MSD’s first ever Large-Scale Mammalian-Based Drug Substance Facility, with the mission and ambition to manufacture breakthrough medicines from Ireland for patients around the world.

This facility will be a significant supplier of drug substances for one of MSD’s key treatments and will also be critical in the future supply of new biotechnology products to its global network.

& SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

The SAP Implementation Lead is responsible for delivering the local SAP and connected business systems Go Live.
The leadership style is one of collaboration, coaching and facilitating; promoting effective collaboration that ensures the maximum realization of benefits to the SAP team and local site.



POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Represent the SAP and connecting business system staffing needs to the Supply Chain Director, assessing the type of resource, quantity of resource, areas to be represented & timing.

  • Responsible for working with the SAP Center Of Excellence Global team to define the new SAP business plan & develop the SAP (and connecting business systems) implementation plan.

  • Coordination and Management of all SAP Program related activities, monitoring and reporting progress, escalating issues and developing mitigation plans as required.

  • Coordinate all business-related preparation activities such as general communication, portfolio management, SOP authorship, 3rd Party process alignment, alignment with Deployment Teams

  • Ensure compliance with cGMP and other business compliance regulations. 

  • Responsible for driving a culture of Continuous Improvement by deploying MSD Six Sigma tools within the SAP Project.

  • Develop an effective, focused and strong team by understanding: their abilities, unique contribution and broadening their skill set to be agile and prepared for the SAP business requirements. Provide your team with the tools to make them successful.

Experience



  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in supply chain or operations leadership, in the Pharmaceutical industry or a similar operating industry.

  • Knowledge of and experience in applying Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.

  • Demonstrated leadership and change management skills with a continuous improvement focus.

  • Capability to interact and communicate with all levels of business leadership and operational teams

  • The ability to influence decision making in a manner that achieves the best possible solution for the organization

  • Solid business acumen with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Minimum of 7 years SAP experience in the Manufacturing environment, preferably in Biotech industry


Skills



  • Possesses broad business understanding, both at-site & above site, as well as cross functional process understanding, and can act as a representative to the general business strategy (in- and external)

  • Proven track record of delivering high performance against a balanced scorecard through development and coaching of a team.

  • Demonstrated leadership behaviours (refer to MSD key behaviours).

  • Experience of moulding a culture to one of inclusion and continuous development for all employees.

  • Demonstrated capability in CEM, change execution management.

  • Demonstrated ability in holding team members accountable for results and managing performance.

  • Stakeholder management of multiple decision makers; franchise and marketing colleagues, customers, and cross-functional colleagues.



Qualifications



  • Degree or 3rd level qualification (Business, Science, Engineering).

  • Advanced degree, diploma or certification in Supply Chain Management preferred

  • Preference Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.

  • Desirable evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
