Global Workplace and Enterprise Services (GWES) are responsible for the management of facilities across our company. This includes leasing, buying and selling real estate, facilitating workspace design and occupancy, and managing the operations and maintenance of the facilities. The operations and maintenance of the facilities is delivered through an outsourced services model called Intergrated Facilities Management (IFM),

The Senior Specialist IFM Data Scientist will support the IFM Centre of Expertise in the design and development of the technology solutions that will enable the IFM Program to operate and deliver efficient and effective delivery solutions to our Company. In addition the role will support the design and development of tools in collaboration with the IFM Suppliers to enable the consolidation of reporting from multiple IFM Suppliers to visualise and benchmark performance across the global program. The role will also take responsibility for program and priorities management for the IFM CoE. 

Specifically, data scientist will:

  • Work closely with the IFM CoE and Operations representatives to define the required outcomes from IFM Data Analytics

  • Work closely with IFM Suppliers to ensure technology platforms are structured to align with our data requirements

  • Work closely with GWES Digitialisation team and IT colleagues both internally and externally to undertake data extraction from the various sources across the company. Work in collaboration with IT engineers to enhance our ease of access to data.

  • Provide ongoing maintenance and stewardship over the IFM system inventory.

  • Clean, validate and analyze data

  • Lead efforts to create data sets that may not exist through experimentation, study creation or other means of data gathering.

  • Use internal and external resources available to gather additional data.

  • Create predictive models or algorithms to support future decisions and opportunities for improvement within IFM.

  • Create visualizations that are easy to interpret and communicate, allowing stakeholders and suppliers across the organization to better interact with data and to use the data to drive decisions on program improvements.

  • Document their work by managing the reproducibility of their reports and version control.

  • Participate in ongoing efforts to develop scorecards and dashboards to help make IFM performance visible, interactive and aligned with outcomes at the site level.

  • Design, develop and implement workflow solutions to support the on-going management of the Program

  • • Maintain the portfolio of projects within the IFM Program, and support the IFM CoE in managing the execution of in alignment with stakeholders and suppliers.

  • • Educate the organization about data analytics and visualization for the IFM program.

Education Minimum Requirement: Bachelor of Science in relevant field of study, such as computer science, engineering, software engineering, statistics or math, or experience of such a discipline in a similar functional area.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Data scientist should have exposure to data science methods through continuing education coursework and through practical application on the job.

  • Demonstrated ability to use the various tools to extract data, conduct analyses, and create visualizations (example tools used: SQL, MongoDB, Spotfire, R, Python, Tableau, Power-BI)

  • Demonstrated capability in conducting analyses, creating data visualizations, setting up experiments and studies, testing hypotheses, and using predictive methods.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide usable visualizations that the non-data scientist can understand and manipulate to gain insights.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively replicate and control versions of their analysis

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Avid learner of new methods, languages and software techniques, and the desire to work with new types of data

  • Creative problem solver and out-of-the-box thinker

  • Collaborative, leadership and communication skills

  • Willingness to find answers to technical challenges on their own, and through connectivity with internal and external collaborative outlets

  • Six sigma certification, or other exposure to process improvement methods

  • Knowledge of IFM operations or similar outsourced service solutions to ensure alignment of digitalization methodologies in visualizing performance
