We are looking for a Team player with a passion for Engineering, who has the desire to keep learning, challenging the status quo & capacity to grow into the role of a MKIPT Technician. We will provide you with the appropriate training & tools to be successful within an ever changing working environment. This is an exciting & rare opportunity for the right candidate.


This role is a “hands on” role working within the Production Maintenance Group & reporting to the Plant Engineer. We will train you to work competently & safely on the following types of equipment:


  • Process vessels.

  • Centrifugal separators.

  • Autoclaves.

  • HVAC systems.

  • Steam & hydraulic piping systems.

  • Pumps, motors & gearboxes.

  • Electrical controls & switchgear.

  • Electro-pneumatic controls.

  • Refrigeration plant.


You will learn how to develop fault finding skills on both electrical & mechanical equipment to minimise equipment downtime to Production. Taking the next step & looking at the bigger picture start asking yourself how did this failure occur & what could be done in the future to prevent a re-occurrence of the same fault condition. To accurately enable you to determine the true root cause we will train you into how to use problem solving tools such as FMEA,  or the 5 Why’s.


As you mature into the role you will broaden your skill sets by planning, organising & managing your individual tasks assigned by the Plant Engineer. You will develop your communication skills as interaction with all stake holders is key. You will operate in a Production environment to “Good Manufacturing Practice for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers” (GMP). Maintaining the balance of completing Maintenance & repairs with the minimum disruption whilst working safely to current legislation & guidance.


Being safe is our number one priority. You will be trained how to operate in a safe & compliant manner without affecting yourself or others by your actions or omissions. Learn how to select the right tools for the job & be able to follow procedural instructions for completing a task. To report all accidents, incidents, near misses & report workplace hazards to the Plant Engineer or Supervisor immediately. You will learn how to be Safe By Choice & not Safe By Chance.


Candidates will have a demonstrated vocational and technical aptitude for mechanical, electrical, mechatronics or maintenance engineering, gained during further education and a recognized route of formal technical training.

Candidates should have attained or be working towards a minimum of City & Guilds Level 3 in an appropriate engineering discipline.

Candidates will have preferably achieved Higher National Certificate or Diploma.
