MSD Singapore represents the global footprint of the broader MSD organisation, with all divisions, enabling functions, global and regional teams co-located across 5 geographical sites. The role of the Senior Manager, Compensation &Benefits is responsible for managing the day-to-day and long-term plans of the compensation and benefits function. The role develops and implements new and revised compensation and benefits programs, policies and procedures with impact, to proactively respond to the Company's strategic goals and competitive practices. 

You will ensure that Company compensation and benefits programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations and align with global philosophy and approach to deliver a relevant, competitive and affordable program. Your responsibilities will include Total Rewards project management, HR Operations Management and human resource business partnership in providing counsel and guidance to people managers and leaders of the specified client group on HR matters.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the approach for Total Rewards by overseeing the delivery of compensation and benefits programs, including the philosophy and structure. Ensure programs and recommended spend across those programs are market relevant, affordable and compliant with applicable employment law and standards for Singapore. 
  • Design and effectively communicate total rewards initiatives aligned with MSD’s value proposition, so that leaders, people managers and employees understand how decisions are made and feel recognised and rewarded in meaningful ways for the work they do.
  • Help develop and apply guidelines, frameworks, toolkits and methodologies (contributing requirements, ideas and resources). Localize and deliver compensation training and communications to HRBPs, leaders and people managers; take an outside in approach to share better/best practices.
  • Manage the annual year-end compensation review process and conduct analysis following the process to ensure reward elements align with talent positioning.  Ensure compensation spend is optimized to reward high performers and business critical skills.
  • Lead annual bench-marking surveys.  Monitor market trends, analyse and use relevant market data to ensure MSD Singapore remains competitive across the range of total rewards campaigns and aligned to the total rewards strategy.
  • Performs job evaluation, job pricing, salary administration and comparative analysis. Develop employee sales incentive plans.
  • Drive the Company’s well-being program LIVE IT. Implement effective strategies to deliver the program across the four pillars that underpin the program. 
  • Drive policy, programs and initiatives to support the broader HR strategy so that there is a clear alignment between country HR practices and global HR philosophies and approaches.
  • Administer employee insurance schemes and benefits and work with broker to follow up on insurance renewal matters.
  • Project manage global, regional and local based C&B projects as needed and ensure completion of projects within the timeline that has been set.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Human Resources Management or related fields.  
  • Demonstrated business acumen, extensive knowledge of compensation and benefits programs, requirements and trends across Singapore, with at least 8-10 years of relevant experience in a multinational environment. 
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the broader HR team and business clients to manage and consult on compensation and benefits
  • Project and change management experience in a complex environment. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and work well with people of all levels of the organisation, including cross functional teams and senior managers.   
  • Excellent influencing skills and credibility at senior level. 
  • Results-orientation, highly organized and able to drive and influence internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Strong numerical and advanced analytical skills, and ability to work through processes and resolve complex matters 
  • Experience/background in sales compensation and incentive plans 
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and proven leadership experience and the ability to see a “bigger picture” and operationalise strategically.  A blend of hands-on operational and design/strategy experience preferred
  • Data-driven and results focussed with prior experience with both quantitative and qualitative data — tracking, measuring and evaluating outcomes to demonstrate impact.
