The recruiter you have been working with will contact you with your verbal and written employment offer.
New Employee Assistance (NEA) Team who will be your primary contact during your onboarding process.
What Can You Expect?
At MSD, we utilize a Global Background Check program to conduct background screenings on newly hired and rehired employees.
This program helps us make informed, quality hiring decisions to support our business needs while adhering to local laws and regulations.
The contingency check comprises of a background screen (education information and employment background).
This process typically takes 7-20 business days to complete.
You will be notified once you successfully complete all required pre-employment contingencies.
Who Will You Hear From?
Your recruiter will provide you with a general overview of the pre-employment contingency check process.
First Advantage, our pre-employment contingency vendor, will contact you directly via email (“Request for Information”) to facilitate the screening.
What Action Should You Take?
Log into the First Advantage “Direct Advantage” system with your unique Application ID in order to register and create your password.
Please submit all required information into First Advantage’s Direct Advantage system within 72 hours of receipt of the email.
What Can You Expect?
Thank you for accepting the offer and your decision to join MSD!
We will prepare your employment documents and send them to you in an email for your review.
After you have completed all contingency clearances, you will work with your NEA contact person on planning the hard copy documents signature.
Your future manager will also begin planning for the support items you need in your new role (e.g. IT equipment).
Within your first week of you will be invited to our virtual Onboarding program.
Who Will You Hear From?
Our HR Support Center EMEA will send you a draft of your employment documents for your review.
Our medical services provider Teamprevent SANTÉ will send you appointment date for mandatory entry medical check with detailed instructions. Please note that this is Czech legal requirement. Without medical certificate you cannot start your employment.
You will also receive login details and links to mandatory online safety trainings from info@instructor.cz
You will receive an email with login instructions for Workday, our cloud-based HR system.
What Action Should You Take?
Please, verify your personal data on the employment documents and let HR Support Center EMEA know in case any correction is needed.
Next please contact NEA team (neaemea@merck.com) and let them know when you wish to physically sign the documents in MSD office. Note that scan copies of the employment contract and salary statement cannot be accepted, hard copies will be provided by NEA team on the day of signing.
Please make sure to complete medical check, safety trainings & your Workday profile before your first day of employment.
Note:It is imperative your personal data is updated prior to your first day of employment to ensure there are no delays in your pay or benefits.
Preparing for your first day
We encourage you to learn more about MSD prior to your first day:
Watch your personal e-mail / inbox – all information about Onboarding Session will be sent there.
Reserve first 2 working half days in a month for your Onboarding Session (9:00 – 14:00).
Bring your ID or additional HR documents (Medical check etc.) for completation.
You will receive badge (entry card) and work devices on your first day.
Parking – the office parking space is limited and parking the first day is not possible, please use public parking zone around the office or public transport. Parking will be solved during your first days in the company with HR. Please note that parking capacity in the building is very limited and no place is guaranteed.
